The term VUCA—an acronym for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity—was originally coined by the U.S. military but has since become a cornerstone concept in modern management and organizational behavior. In a healthcare sector marked by continuous technological shifts, rising patient expectations, fragile global supply chains, and growing challenges faced by healthcare professionals—including an increased number of stress-related cases and workforce shortages—MSS is proactively preparing its people to not only adapt but to lead.

Throughout the workshop, Dr. Mahmoud introduced a counter-framework to VUCA—one grounded in Vision, Understanding, Clarity, and Analysis—and challenged team members to rethink how they lead change internally and externally. The session emphasized practical leadership strategies tied closely to the SEAM methodology (Socio-Economic Approach to Management), an engaging training program designed to empower healthcare leaders and equip them with the needed tools to improve performances in their institutions and avoid resources misuse.
